I know, I know… It has been awhile. And for that, I apologize dearly. Things have been real hectic and work has more or less taken over my life. That being said, Im done in a few weeks, at which point I will be back in action. The good news is that there has been a good amount of music released recently, so once I get back to blogging Ill be sure to get you back in the loop.

I know skins has been following Big Sean for a while, and I’ve always followed his lead on that one. But this past week, a bunch of tracks from his upcoming album, Finally Famous, leaked to the world. The leaks sample some big names, and they all deliver some dope tracks. His first mixtape The Warm Up absolutely blew my mind (get it if you don’t already have it), he followed up nicely with The Blow Up just last year, and has since been releasing singles here and there pretty consistently. Is it the weekend yet?
Last week, Chris Webby dropped a full fledged mixtape by the name of Webster’s Laboratory (download here). To be honest, after watching that awful video of him at Union College, I lost a lot of respect for the dude and kinda stopped following his act. So, despite my initial desire to avoid this mixtape, I decided that I probably should at least give it a listen and see what it was all about. The verdict? Webster is redeemed. Don’t get me wrong, that video is terrible (watch it here). But he goes real hard on this mixtape and delivers some pretty dope tracks. Check a few out yourself:

Huey Mack returns to the scene with the release of this real chill mixtape Freshman 15. The production on the mixtape is pretty dope, great beats and solid overall effort by Huey. Just last week, the Chiddy Bang duo dropped their highly anticipated second full fledged mixtape entitled Peanut Butter and Swelly. As expected, the group continues their seemingly endless hotstreak and delivers an overall work of art. Xaphoon continues to show his prowess with great beats and some awesome sampling, while Chiddy does his work on the mic.
