Big Sean – I Do It

10 May

Insane beat, rap, everything. Big Sean is actually gettin’ big. Check this out.

Can’t Sleep

6 May

It’s gotta be a matter of time before this becomes a hit. There are some songs that just have that catchy sound and I think this is it. And its a damn cool video too. Little weird, but cool. T-Pain is also almost as dependable as Akon. T-Pain just came out with a mixtape too. Maybe I’ll fill you in on that in a few days after I go through it.

Lock Down

6 May

It’s certainly been a while. Haven’t been too satisfied with my music for a long time. Didn’t want to pass on any of my bad tunes to you all. I have some stuff now though. Let’s start with this. Akon. The man.

Big Sean and Chris Brown

9 Feb

I want Big Sean to really break through and come out with some hits because he has great style. His lyrics are good and he sounds a bit like Drake. And, regardless of his criminal record, Chris Brown has a great voice. He can take a chorus in any song as far as I’m concerned. Unfortunately this song is edited but if I come across the explicit version, I will switch it. But check it out.

Big K.R.I.T. – Neva Go Back

19 Jan

It’s been a dry couple of weeks music-wise for me. My playlist has been the same damn stuff and I’m honestly getting sick of it. But…today I came across a song by Big K.R.I.T. who I posted on over the summer. He just has a great sound and his beats are really chill. I don’t know who Grillade is but its a real nice chorus. This song was certainly a nice quencher after the drought I just went through. Songs are few and far between but Harry and I will find all the goodies. Check this out and keep looking for updates.

Bei Maejor

5 Jan

A while back Harry posted on Bei Maejor. I’ll be honest I had a tough time warming up to him but a couple songs of his have come to my attention. As Harry said, he does sound similar to The Dream, but I actually like his voice a lot more and he raps sometimes. And given that it is my 21st birthday tomorrow, Drunk In The Club couldn’t be a more appropriate song for Thursday night. Check these songs out and look forward to more posts of this guy in the future. He’s officially on my radar.

Teach You To Fly

4 Jan

As we’ve discussed, this generation wants a hot beat and a catchy hook. It’s not a brand new song but Wiz Khalifa got the memo and jumped on the bandwagon. This song is definitely not classic Wiz but it’s a real hot uptempo beat and he’s got real nice flow in this tune. I would say Wiz Khalifa’s songs are smoking or pregaming songs but this you can definitely bump at a party. All the artists are coming out with songs like this trying to conform to the times. I do hope this is just a once in a while thing for him and he sticks to his chill beats but it was a nice surprise. Check it out.

They’re Callin’ Us Out

29 Dec

Everyone is guilty at one point or another for falling in love with a hot beat and a catchy hook. Let’s think of a couple of recent examples…Dynamite by Taio Cruz, Black and Yellow by Wiz, Yeah 3X by Chris Brown. The list goes on. We are probably a little tipsy and pump our fist through most of the song, belt out the chorus, and find someone or something to grind on. Eminem, Dr. Dre, Stat Quo, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, and Ca$hi$ straight up call us out here. While they sit there and slave over the lyrics for their next big album, Taio Cruz writes about throwing your hands up in the air and living your life and makes millions. Here’s a little reminder about what real hip hop/rap is.

Sugar In My Feet

24 Dec

After the explosion of Kanye, Black Eyed Peas, Kid Cudi, Michael Jackson, and Rihanna all coming out with new albums, new and good songs have been few and far between for me. But a friend of mine sent me this song by Kitsch 2.0. It’s has a great beat and it’s just real catchy. One of those songs you can put on to start one of those late night college dance parties. Check it out.

The King of Pop

10 Dec

Michael Jackson did work before he passed away. I thought it couldn’t get any better than MJ and Akon but it actually does. This album that is about to come out in four days may be better than anything he has come out with since Thriller. There are some great songs and not only does he feature Akon, he also features 50 Cent and Lenny Kravitz. It’s a great album. Here are my favorite songs but buy the album in a few days. Support the King of Pop. There is no one better.
